The NCLA General Announcements

The NCLA will be having an Open House from 6:00PM-8:00PM:

  • Tuesday, August 19th for grades 7-10. 
  • Thursday, August 21st  for grades K-6.

  • Please park vehicles on the far side of the building in the main parking lot.

    Parent Portal is Going Live This Week! Pre-Register Online...

    Please take a moment this week to register each email account used to communicate with The NCLA with the new parent portal as soon as possible. This information is tied to the new online system we are putting in place to help facilitate faster and more secure communication between students, parents, and teachers and will be used to determine access lists and email groups for the 2014-2015 school year.

    The NCLA Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron

    There will also be a  civil air patrol squadron meeting for 10th graders and parents 6:00 to 8:00 p.m on the 21st in the multi-purpose room on the High School Wing of our new building. Please be reminded that all students will be required to attend a at least one session as appropriate to their grade level on one of the following times/dates:

    8/14 8th Graders and Parents 2:00 - 4:00 OR 6:00 - 8:00 (Only choose one)
    8/15 9th Graders and Parents 2:00 - 4:00 OR 6:00 - 8:00 (Only choose one)
    8/16 Any 8th or 9th Graders and Parents unable to attend previous times 10-12:00

    8/21 10th Graders and Parents 2:00 - 4:00 OR 6:00 - 8:00 (Only choose one)
    8/22 Any 10th Graders and Parents unable to attend previous times 6:00 - 8:00

    Parents of new students should bring one of the following types of documentation to meet NC-825 Cadet Squadron Requirements:
    • US Passport
    • Social Security Card
    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Driver's License or State Issued ID
    • Certified copy of birth certificate
    If you are not able to make the time slots for your particular grade, please choose another that is convenient. We will be meeting in the new school building multi-purpose room. Cadets do not need to wear a CAP uniform, but should come in business casual. Parents, please plan to stay the entire two hours as there will be several forms to complete and lots of information disseminated.

    The NCLA Hosts Ceremonial Flag Raising in Honor of New Location

    The North Carolina Leadership Academy will be celebrating its first academic year at its permanent location with a ceremonial flag raising at 7:00 p.m, Tuesday, August 5th, 2014, by the NC-825 Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron Color Guard. The first flag to fly over our new location has special significance as it was flown over Iraq in an unmanned drone on April 13, 2014, especially in honor of The NCLA and was gifted to the school by the Jeff and Tracy White family.

    Parents, faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend this meritorious occasion as we raise the American flag up our 40 ft flag pole for the first time.

    First Lego League (FLL) at NCLA

    FIRST Lego League (FLL) challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers.  During the upcoming FLL season, teams of 4th through 8th grade students will build, program and test an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game.  They will also choose and solve a real-world question in the Project.  Throughout their experience, teams will
