The AP Environmental Science 🌎 students visited the Winston Salem wastewater treatment facility 💧. We learned about the chemistry 🧪 and the biology 🧫 that goes into cleaning the city’s water before its return to the river.

Thank you to the Huey and West families! We appreciate you!!!

🏆 Congratulations to The NCLA’s Cooper Wingate! 🏆
What an incredible 2025 wrestling season! On Sunday, February 23, Cooper showcased true grit and determination at the NCHSAA 1A State Wrestling Championships. Despite an early setback, he battled back to win every remaining match of the day, securing an impressive 3rd Place finish in the 132 lbs weight class!
We couldn’t be prouder of his hard work, resilience, and dedication!

PLEASE READ!!!
We are excited to welcome back this fun event!!!!
This is a "floating event" so please don't feel the need to show up exactly at 9:00 - it's better to come a little later and avoid the initial crowd!
Please make sure whatever grownup is visiting knows that they must park in the back lot and walk up to the front office.
If you have students in BOTH K-3 AND 4-5, we can coordinate them all coming together, but it is helpful if you can come on WEDNESDAY as we are anticipating this day to be a little less chaotic.

Thursday, February 20th will be a remote learning day.

Thank you Stricker Family! We appreciate you!

Wednesday, February 19 - Remote learning day

The NCLA is currently seeking a Middle School Track & Field Head Coach and a Middle School Golf Assistant Coach. If you are interested in learning more, please email your resume to Athletic Director Stephanie McCormick at smccormick@thencla.org

Service is at the heart of NHS, and today, our students proved that even a day off can be a day on for kindness.
Today, they served at Out of the Garden Project, packaging fresh produce, meat, and bread to help fight food insecurity. With 1,000 local families served each week, this organization makes a real difference—and we’re grateful to be a small part of it!
