This Saturday, May 2nd, is the NCLA's 5th annual Day of the Arts! Join us in the high school gym at 1pm for the choir concert, then stay to look at artwork, get your face painted, eat a yummy baked good, and listen to small performances in the gym. The day will conclude with the band performing a concert at 4pm in the highschool gym. We hope to see you there!

In a thrilling game that ended in penalty kicks, our Middle School girls soccer team pulled it out and became Conference Champions ! Congratulations to our coaches and students for an incredible season!

The NCLA´s High School Spanish classes participated in LOCURA DE MARZO - March Madness - through music! Students listen to music and watch videos of 16 Spanish songs from various artists throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Students complete a prediction bracket and then all the classes vote and a winning song is chosen. Locura de marzo:
Is a celebration of Hispanic culture and language through MUSIC - as language does not only live in books!
Promotes cultural awareness & language proficiency
Introduces students to new songs and encourage them to actively engage with culture and language
Introduces new Vocabulary and Create excitement for language learning
Familiarizes students with different accents
Allows students to see different places and different faces from all over the Spanish-speaking world
Introduces students to intercultural understandings and connections through musical traditions and instruments, different vocabularies and grammar structures, knowledge of Spanish products and practices
Students in each class with winning brackets that received prizes of gift cards, candy, and homework passes were:

Students were recently inducted into Los Halcones, the NCLA's Chapter of The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. The Spanish Honor Society is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language and excellence in secondary education and promotes a continuity of interest in Spanish and studies. Its motto is "¡Todos a una!". The ceremony was led by its officers: President Carlie Clayton, Vice-President Wenda McLaurin , and Secretary Reagan Gauldin ¡FELICITACIONES! to the following students who were inducted:
