Third grade did an economics project where they created small businesses and had a market swap with another third grade class! The kids went shopping, then had the other class shop for their items! Tons of fun was had, and we learned some important lessons about business. Future entrepreneurs! They had some great ideas and had a fantastic learning experience!

Students were recently inducted into Los Halcones, the NCLA's Chapter of The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. The Spanish Honor Society is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language and excellence in secondary education which promotes a continuity of interest in Spanish studies. Its motto is "¡Todos a una!". The ceremony was led by its sponsor, Ms. Shannon Maggard and the 23-24 officers: Natalie Burns, President; Zoey Martin, Vice-President; Evelyn Bruning, Secretary.

Thank you to our garden volunteers who helped get our teachable garden ready for spring planting this week! They are waiting until after this upcoming frost and then they will plant Beans 🫘 Beets , Carrots 🥕 Cucumber 🥒 Kale 🥬 Ground Cherries 🍒 Okra, Peas 🫛 Peppers 🫑 Radish, Tomatoes 🍅 and a special treat of Strawberries 🍓 We love to watch our garden grow! Summer adoption sign up will be coming out around the end of April and we hope you will consider helping us keep this awesome space up during summer break!

Students in Mrs. Maggard's Spanish 1 classes researched a Spanish-speaking country and designed a Menu and a Food Truck that is a true, authentic representation of the country, traditional food, flavors, culture, and people.

The NCLA's very first Battle of the Books Team!!! Thanks to Ms. Chase and Ms. Hiatt for all of the time and love they poured into this group. Lots of things were learned and lots of fun was had!
Get on the road and support NCLA Varsity Athletics tonight. Varsity Soccer will be at Piedmont Classical starting at 5:00pm. Varsity Softball plays Cornerstone Charter at Gibson Park beginning at 5:00pm. Varsity Baseball travels to Millennium Charter Academy with first pitch at 6:00pm. Varsity Golf faces off with CPLA with the match played at Jamestown Golf Course beginning at 3:00pm. Go Falcons!

The NCLA National Honor Society will be hosting a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross Bus on April 12 from 8:30am-1:30pm. The bus will be located at the back of the gym by the baseball field. Check-in will be at the back of the HS gym, and donors will enter from the back sidewalk by the baseball field. Please consider donating to help save lives!
