Ms. Kerr’s freshmen English classes are currently reading Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” She invited a guest speaker, Taylor Neese (Stage Combat Choreographer), to teach them the basics of sword and unarmed stage combat. Students got to choreograph Romeo and Tybalt’s duel from Act 3.

Varsity Soccer: Sept 16 game with Piedmont Classical postponed (TBD); Sept 20 game at Andrews cancelled.
Varsity Women's Tennis: Sept. 16 match vs Bishop McGuinness rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 20; Sept 25 match at SE Guilford Canceled.
Middle School Cross Country Meet: Sept 18 meet at Clover Garden is rescheduled for Wednesday, September 25th.
Middle School Boy's Soccer: Sept 18 match at Cornerstone rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 23 at 4:30pm.

NCLA Athletics Update 9/16: Middle School Boys Soccer, Varsity Women's Tennis and Varsity Men's Soccer have all been cancelled for today and have been rescheduled. Several Teams are still on for today. Middle School Girls Volleyball Team hits the road for a Conference matchup with Cornerstone Charter (Away) at 4:30pm. The Varsity Women's Golf Team will be at Grandover Golf Course teeing off at 4:00pm. JV Volleyball is at home against Glenn High School at 5:00pm. Today, 24 of our NHS students dedicated their morning to addressing food insecurity by volunteering with Open Door Ministries, an organization in High Point committed to providing compassionate care to those in need. Their mission is to support the vulnerable in our community by offering essential services such as meals, shelter, and guidance. This effort aligns with our chapter’s new focus of combating food insecurity and supporting families who face hunger daily. We are making a difference! Thanks Mrs Tucker!
